A Triple A Shop is Not Just for AAA Members: Why?
A Triple A Shop is Not Just for AAA Members: Why?
Posted on 9/12/2017
Even if you are not an AAA member there are real advantages to having your vehicle serviced at an AAA approved auto repair facility. This is especially true if you happen to be travelling or moving to a new town. Why? There is an old expression that says when you move to a new town the first things you look for are a doctor, a dentist, and a mechanic. While we can't help you with the first two, we can with the last one. A big benefit with AAA is the shop, the equipment, the restrooms, and the technicians have been screened to meet the highest standards prior to your visit. A third party has vetted the overall auto repair facility, on your behalf, before you even moved into town!
What exactly does AAA look for and why the high standards? AAA has evolved over the years into an organization that demands a regional not to say national reputation of quality services for its members. This includes the automotive repair industry. The AAA approved auto repair facilities are routinely inspected for all aspects of their operation. The inspectors themselves are typically highly certified. As an example the inspector for our facility has ASE Master Auto Technician and L1 certifications. This means when he interviews our ASE Certified Technicians he has very strong credentials and is acutely aware of the tools and diagnostic equipment they use as well as their individual skill sets. He also understands the management commitment to keeping the facility current as an ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Recognized Business and what it means to maintain the highest technical standards.
The inspection does not end with the technical capabilities of the shop. Reception area and waiting room are inspected for comfort and cleanliness, restrooms are checked to make sure they are clean and stocked with appropriate supplies, the overall appearance of the facility is evaluated, and the credentials of the technicans and service consultants are displayed. BBB membership is essential. A+ ratings are required. This then goes into each and every AAA approved auto repair facility to make certain AAA members are getting a very high level of standard; these same standards are available to any walk in customers as well!
AAA does this thorough screening to make certain their approved shops keep standards which are second to none. But what about shops that are the best of the best? Annually AAA does recognize these shops by presenting them with the coveted AAA Top Shop Award. While you are in very good hands to have your vehicle serviced at any AAA approved auto repair facility, you really have found a crown jewel with an AAA Top Shop Award winner. At Sierra Service Center we are proud to have received this award four years in a row. Looking for a good mechanic? The search is over!
